Family Support Services Of The Bay Area
Family Support Services of the Bay Area's mission is to support children, youth, families, and communities by providing services that make them stronger.
Description:
Respite Program: Provides intermittent childcare to parents and other caregivers in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, and San Francisco counties.
Family Preservation Program: Provides intensive home-based services to San Francisco and Oakland families whose children are at imminent risk of removal from their homes.
Kinship Program: Offers much needed support to grandparents and other relative caregivers who are caring for kin children who have been removed from the care of their biological parents.
OreMi Mentoring Program: Serves children of incarcerated parents by creating lasting one-on-one mentoring relationships. We work to develop the confidence and potential of each child's future to break the cycle of incarceration. We work with children ages 4-18 in Alameda and Contra Costa County.
History:
Family Support Services of the Bay Area (FSSBA) is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. FSSBA incorporated in 1989 and began providing services on January 1, 1990. Our mission is to help caregivers nurture their children and keep their families intact.
