New Village Press publishes inspiring and informative works to help citizens build vibrant, healthy and equitable communities.

Description:
New Village Press is a nonprofit publisher specializing in non-fiction works about grassroots community building, urban ecology, restorative justice, and community-based arts. The Press publishes books that offers useful solutions to critical social, environmental and economic challenges. It is a program of Architects Designers Planners for Social Responsibility.

New Village is the first publisher to serve the emerging fields of community building and community cultural development. The Press is unique in its ability to nurture communications among activists, academics, practitioners and a public, who share common interests, but often need guidance and encouragement to collaborate. New Village is also unique in emphasizing the good news of people taking action, and in profiling practical successful programs.

New Village Press shines a light on the real issues effecting society and gives people the tools and inspiration to be catalysts for change in their own communities.

History:
New Village Press published its first books in 2005. It evolved from New Village Journal, the national periodical, begun in 1999, of Architects Designers Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR). ADPSR has been working since 1982 for peace and nuclear disarmament, environmental protection, and social justice.
