Description:
The Alameda County Fair is the largest county fair in Northern California and largest public event in Alameda County attracting close to 400,000 attendees each year. The fairgrounds encompasses 267 park-like acres. The Alameda County Fair is a non-profit 501c3 and receives no Goverment subsidies to host the Annual Fair on behalf of the County of Alameda. In 2008, the Fair received 36 Western Fair Awards and won the coveted Louis B. Merrill Award by sponsoring a charitable community event to support homeless Veterans of America.
History:
The Alameda County Fair Association is a 501c3 non-profit corporation that was formed in 1939. Under a long-term contract with the County of Alameda, the Association manages and operates 267 acres of land in the City of Pleasanton, know as the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
