East County Boys And Girls Club
In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. They are truly The Positive Place For Kids.

Our History
Over the years, the Pittsburg community has seen remarkable change in the East County Boys & Girls Club. One thing, however, has remained the same, young people need a safe environment where they can play, learn, and grow. They need to know that someone is always there to care and listen.
The East County Boys & Girls Club has been meeting these needs since 1947, when the very first club opened its doors on West Eighth between Montezuma & West Streets. After a devastating fire destroyed the building in 1985, the community and the club's board of directors came together to make an investment in Pittsburg's future by rebuilding and expanding the club. Commitment and hard work transformed this dream into reality, as individuals and organizations worked relentlessly on the capital campaign and set a fundraising record in 1992. The result is the East County Boys & Girls Club's new state-of-the-art facility at 1001 Stoneman Avuenue.
And our commitment continues. Today, the board of directors, club staff, and volunteers, along with our donors and partners, are dedicated to bringing innovative, award winning programs that will make a profound difference in the lives of East County youth. Through a curriculum designed to teach critical skills, build character and enrich the whole person, we provide growth opportunities and personal guidance that many of these children would otherwise never have.
Our motto- "A Positive Place For Kids" - truly expresses our intentions, and our actions speak even more loudly. We are committed to making time where there is none and raising the funds which enable us to keep our promise to local youth... the leaders of tomorrow.
