Sustainable Contra Costa (SCOCO)is our most recent project to educate and inspire communities on sustainability. Generation Green has a board of 5 members that meet monthly on the third Thursday of the month.

History:
Generation Green started as a grass roots effort in 1990 and has participated in hundreds of events throughout the San Francisco Bay Area since it's inception. Generation Green became incorporated in February 2004. Generation Green currently partners with several non profit agencies to expand our outreach and education efforts. In 2008 we partnered with Sustainable Lafayette, Sustainable Moraga, and Parents for a Safer Environment to create Green Rheem Movie night. The Dumpster Diversion Project partnered with The Martinez Arts Association in 2008 and currently holds swap-o-ramas for artists and teachers on a quarterly basis to provide discarded art materials. The Dumpster Diversion Project also donates discarded material to after school programs, senior centers, and various other agencies throughout Contra Costa. Our Climate Leaders Program was started in 2008 and has successfully been awarded grants and provides an intern position. SCOCO,our most recent project will be having it's first Sustainable Awards night this year on September 30th at Heather Farms Garden Center highlighting businesses that are making a difference in Contra Costa County.
