Foster healthy development in infants and young children who are at risk, abused, neglected, emotionally disturbed, or affected by family substance abuse by providing comprehensive mental health treatment and early education services to them and their families.
Description:
Early Childhood Mental Health Program provides mental health services for children 0-6 years, and their families living in West Contra Costa County. Services include in-home-visiting; on site play therapy at our Family Center in Richmond; a comprehensive therapeutic nursery; consultation services to teachers at pre-schools and child care centers; support groups for monolingual Latino fathers and English speaking fathers wanting to strengthen relationships with their children; support groups for monolingual Latina mothers of toddlers and support groups for monolingual Latina mothers dealing with domestic violence.
History:
Early Childhood Mental Health Program has provided mental health services to young children and their families for 30 years. Services are provided by trained mental health workers, licensed therapists and psychologists.
