Martinez Education Foundation

The Martinez Education Foundation (MEF) provides supplementary funds to the schools within the Martinez Unified School District. The funds provided are donated by individuals and business with an interest and commitment to education. MEF raises approximately $150,000/year.

Description:
The Martinez Education Foundation is a community based partnership of energetic volunteers committed to providing resources to enhance education opportunities for our children. MEF believes that education is both an investment and a priority for the Martinez community.

MEF is a separate and independent entity from the Martinez Unified School District. All funds raised by MEF are distributed through grants to the classroom, or invested in the Legacy Fund account, which is an annuity for the future. The Foundation is governed by a 20-member Board of Directors. The organization is all-volunteer.

History:
Founded in 1983, and incorporated in 1984, the Martinez Education Foundation seeks to provide broad-based ongoing support to the students of the Martinez Unified School District. The Foundation is a separate and independent entity from the Martinez Unified School District.
