Society Of St. Vincent De Paul Of Alameda County
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides emergency assistance to those in need in Alameda County. No work of charity is foreign to the Society. We provide direct assistance, much of it with the help of hundreds of volunteers.

History:
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam, a 20-year-old student of the Sorbonne University in Paris, France. Similar groups began to form through Paris, then spread throughout France, and eventually throughout the world.
Vincentians are united in an international society of charity by their spirit of poverty, humility, and sharing. The Alameda County St. Vincent de Paul was founded in 1938.
