Martinez Early Childhood Center, Inc.
Martinez Early Childhood Center, Inc. will provide a quality child care and development program that is safe, warm and loving, with developmentally appropriate activities for children one year to five years old, with efficient administration, parent and community involvement, and support services for the children and families.
Description:
Martinez Early Childhood Center, Inc. is funded by the California Department of Education to provide quality early care and education and school readiness for children of low income families in a full day program. Our program is Accreditation by the National Association of the Education of Young Children. We provide preschool and toddler education. We work closely with the community to provide meaningful, educational science, nature and art experiences for our young students. We are set in a very bucolic area of Martinez and enjoy interacting with nature on a daily basis. The small town community of Martinez is very active in the arts and this is reflected in the children's on-going educational projects.
History:
The center was incorporated in April of 1974, and is in its 35th year of operation. The site at 615 Arch Street was purchased using foundation grants in 1976. Over the years we continually work on program improvement and site renovation, as the site was built in 1939. A new facility was added to the site in 1981 to house the Infant-Toddler Program.
