Camping Unlimited for Disabled Children & Adults

Camping Unlimited provides year-round weekend recreation programs, summer camping opportunities and travel camps for those with developmental disabilities.

Description:
Nearly every weekend from September thru May, Camping Unlimited provides Saturday "day trips", or overnight trips that may include sporting events, community faires, visits to state parks, museums, amusement parks, visits to beaches, theme party weekend events and much much more. During the summer, Camping Unlimited operates a full scale summer resident camp for campers with disabilities at their property near Santa Cruz. EACH TRIP begans and ends in Emeryville California. Our own private vehicles are used for these events. Volunteers and participants board our Camping Unlimited bus at 9am and return at 5pm, (unless different times are announced). Volunteers assist children or adults with disabilities by being a friend, guide, mentor, helping them with socialization during the day and helping with any task assigned them during the day, (all in group arrangement). The goal is to allow each individual to explore and experience fun and exciting times, while helping them make new friends. This trips also allow parents and caretakers to have a much needed break for a short time. Our Volunteers must be mature, friendly and have good judgment.
