The Antioch Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church.

Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description:
The Antioch Salvation Army provides Emergency Food, Emergency Energy Assistance,GED Study Program, an Afterschool Tutoring Club; Christian Scouting Programs, a Youth Club, a weekly Family Literacy Nite, and a weekly Women's Club.

Our Christmas Effort includes a 3 week intake process; and new toys for each child in the family, as well as a Holiday Food Box w/turkey included.


History:
The Salvation Army International is over 140 years old. We are present and operating in over 111 countries to date.

The Antioch Salvation Army has been serving all of East Contra Costa County for over 16 years. In 16 years we have assisted over 23,000 individuals with emergency food, over 600 families with energy assistance, over 200 children with a free week-long away camp experience,provided over 56,000 toys to children in East County, Provided safe, recreational activities for over 2000 children, and counseled, referred, and trained over 119,000 individuals in the disciplines and attitudes of self-sufficiency and other life skills.
