Are you sick and tired of old people being ripped off by lenders, brokers, caregivers, relatives, landlords and scam artists of all descriptions? If your answer is yes, this may be the volunteer position for you.
Senior Legal Services(SLS) is currently looking for talented and conscientious board members to help us guide and grow our organization. Since its founding in 1976, SLS has assisted its clients with more than 30,000 legal matters. SLS provides general advice, counsel and representation in civil legal matters, such as housing, income maintenance/finance, elder abuse, consumer matters, estate planning and related issues. A free Wills program is also available to qualified seniors. The board is actively involved in all aspects of the organization's work and currently meets quarterly in Walnut Creek.
SLS is looking for new members from the legal, business, senior and general communities representing all regions of Contra Costa County to increase the size and diversity of its board.
