Position title: Board Link Position
Description: Finance, Fund development, Organizational development, Marketing/public relations.
We are seeking one to three board members with experience in some aspect of children's services. People of color are especially encouraged.
We are interested in members who share our core values:
--commitment to working toward a society in which every child is given high-quality care, respect, and the material resources needed for optimal development--which would require a significant shift in public priorities.
--a belief that people at the grassroots--parents, child care providers, and other community workers--are key to bringing about those changes, in their direct work with children, in their communities, and in building a powerful movement for children and families.
Board Member Responsibilities:: Attendance at meetings six times a year; sharing ideas, information, and contacts; participating in discussions and leadership in organizational decision-making and financial oversight; taking on committee work and officers' jobs as needed; occasionally taking on supportive tasks such as doing research, helping with publicity, attending meetings or events
