Volunteer Opportunity Details:

This is a great opportunity for people, who want to connect with patients. The Breast Health Center Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients. The receptionist will greet patients; escort patients from the registration to the changing area; reassure patients and give a word of comfort. Volunteers find this assignment to be extremely enriching because it allows them to connect with patients who are alarmed. They leave this assignment knowing that they have effected someone in a very personal way.

Volunteers for this assignment should be very customer focused. They must be in good health with the ability to walk throughout the department. Furthermore, they should have the ability to speak clearly and distinctly. They should also have good hearing, vision and dexterity. Moreover, they should be able to volunteer at least one day per week. The shifts are 8:30a.m.-11:30a.m. and 12:30p.m.-4:00p.m., Monday-Friday.
