Fun Summer Intern Positions for Passionate High School Students Teen Volunteer Opportunities
Powered by Truist

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on February 4, 2009

Application Deadline Extended to May 15th!

Do you remember who made your summers special? Now it’s your turn to make a kid’s summer the best ever!

Camp Galileo is an art, science and outdoor day camp looking for amazing interns. Summer Interns are typically high school students who are excited about working with kids. You must also be patient, and have a fun and energetic attitude. Experience leading groups of kids between the ages of 5 and 11 is helpful, but not required – if you have a positive attitude and lots of energy, we can teach you the rest.

Summer Interns participate in a wide variety of work experiences while having a great time at camp. They help Lead Instructors promote creativity and innovation with camper projects in the classroom setting, work with Team Leaders to create unified camp spirit by helping to lead teambuilding games, and gain administrative experience assisting the Operations Coordinator to help camp run smoothly. In return for their work we offer a Certificate of Participation (listing community service hours earned), the potential for a reference from a leader in the educational community, and the experience of working with quality staff (90% of our parents rated the Staff as Very Good or Excellent). Also we provide professional development in our LEAD program through training, ongoing observation, and formal and informal evaluations.

By the end of summer, you will have inspired dozens of campers, developed life-long friendships, and gained new confidence in your leadership skills.

Apply online at www.galileoed.com/volunteer. Positions will fill on a rolling basis so apply ASAP.

We are interviewing students who are available to volunteer 3-8 weeks this summer. The expected work hours for camp are 8am to 4pm. Camp Galileo has 21 Bay Area locations with high school interns from over 80 high schools.
