Volunteer Opportunity Details:

A Canon Hospice volunteer is a kind and loving person, who wants to to share their strengths with those who are facing end of life challenges. They offer spiritual and physical support by helping in the homes of our patients. Tasks include reading to the patient or supporting the caregiver by running errands and doing odd jobs.
Taking care of the terminally ill is a full time job for the family; it does not end at night. Volunteers are so important to the families at home.
Canon volunteer opportunities available at our Elmwood inpatient facility.
We have a need for volunteers to work with our Bereavement coordinator in making phone calls and sending out correspondence to the bereaved families. Hands on opportunity to volunteer with the CNA staff.(assist in feeding of patients, filling ice pitchers,and other light duties)
Canon Hospice volunteers really know how important and fulfilling they are to families when we receive notes of thanks and gratitude for their volunteer services.

All those who have a desire to give of themselves can find a volunteer role. We provide training. Volunteers are screened through background checks. We can document completion of service hours for our volunteers to schools, clubs and businesses.
