Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Start The Adventure In Reading (STAIR) is recruiting tutors for the 2009-2010 school year. Volunteers are needed to tutor second grade public school children one on one in reading. A professionally designed curriculum is used to tutor students from 27 public schools at 23 sites in the New Orleans area. Tutoring takes place after school and Saturday mornings. No previous experience is necessary.

Two hour training class required plus visiting a site to observe a current tutor. For training dates, contact the STAIR office at 899-0820 or visit web site.
