The WBCC is a grassroots advocacy organization. Our mission is to to bring Wisconsin voices together to Stand Up and Speak Out about breast cancer with :
Education, - spotlighting critical breast cancer issues, Collaboration - empowering through strategic alliances, Legislation - influencing policy making
Description:
Since it was founded in 1994, the WBCC has initiated programs meant to reach the people of Wisconsin directly, partnered with other organizations to affect changes in policy that have significantly increased funding for research on both the state and national level, and worked to improve access to quality care and treatment for all people. We regularly have educational events open to the public on breast cancer topics and advocacy, have contact with our state and federal legislators at least annually via lobby days and maintain a large legislative alert network to notify members of pending legislation that might affect breast cancer policy. We believe that our collective voice in Wisconsin WILL make a difference.
