Help pack and stack boxes of children's books that are shipped out to 43 Reach Out & Read pediatric clinics across the KC Metro. The books will be given out at no cost to the clinic's young patients. Volunteers help on an on-call basis, assisting a few times a year on the second Tuesday morning of each month. Reach Out & Read's Book Coordinator needs help in the early morning (from approx 7:15am-8:00am). Early Birds: In just 30 minutes or so, you can provide much needed and appreciated assistance! Packing & stacking takes place in the pediatric unit at KU Med Center. Free parking and unlimited access to our candy jar is provided.
- Willing to commit to helping as-needed, typically 2-4 times/year
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Available from 7:15am-7:45on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, when needed
- It requires a little muscle as some of the boxes weigh up to 45lbs
The Packer/Stacker job is located in KU Med Center's Pediatric Unit in KC, KS (near NE Johnson Cty & The Plaza) Free parking and unlimited access to candy jar (to rebuild your strength!)provided
