Arts in Prison, Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation of incarcerated men and women in Kansas City area correctional facilities through the arts. Compassionate, talented artists teach inmates everything from photography to acting to drawing. We have a very well-known choir out of Lansing Correctional Facility East unit called the East Hill Singers, a very talented group of men. The guys at Lansing would love to take guitar lessons; that's where you come in! We are looking for a volunteer who is enthusiastic about teaching these men how to play the guitar. Classes are one evening per week, and last about 1.5 hours. The class sessions usually last about 8 to 12 weeks, but that is up to the instructor. If you have any questions please contact Sarah Estes at 913-403-0229 or sarahe@artsinprison.org.
