Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Advisory Board members are responsible for working together with the program coordinator to plan and organize the annual fundraiser, the family picnic and Christmas party for the moms and their families,and for being an advocate in the community for the program.

Our program matches Support/Mentor Mothers up with Partner Mothers who often live at or below the federal poverty guideline, who may be young, single, isolated or lack a support system, or are new mothers. Mothers of all religions, races, and economic backgrounds are welcome to apply.

Monthly meetings are held for all the mothers where speakers provide information on topics related to motherhood, child care and life skills.

By supporting the mothers and helping them to become better parents, we are also helping children to grow up in a more healthy environment.

Planning Committee members must be able to attend a monthly meeting on a Monday evening (1 1/2 hours) and help with the planning/organization of activities throughout the year.
