History:
NorthPointe Woods is a reality that came from a dream. In 1996 a steering committee was formed to ascertain the need for senior living options in Battle Creek. The results of the study commissioned revealed a huge void in the area for a senior residence community where seniors could age in place. A board was formed and in 1997 non-profit status was granted as a supporting organization of the Battle Creek Community Foundation. After grants were received from the Binda and Miller Foundations, private donors, and the Kellogg 25 Year fund, NorthPointe Woods broke ground in 1998. In December of 1999 the first residents in Assisted Living were welcomed to thier new home. In the summer of 2000 the Independnt Living Apartments were completed and our first residents began moving into thier new home.
