The mission of The Arc of Calhoun County is to build stronger communities where people with developmental disabilities are respected and fully included.
Description:
The Arc of Calhoun County is a non profit agency that provides advocacy services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Other services we provide are various support groups including our weekly Table Talk Sessions (This is a group for adults to learn about everyday living skills). Kids on the Block is a puppet troup that promotes acceptance and diversity among people, targeting youths younger than 5th grade. Dignified Lifestyles is a program that monitors the living situations for people with developmental disabilities to assure dignity and choice's are being preserved.
History:
The Arc of Calhoun has been incorporated since 1954 with the main focus on serving individuals with developmental disabilities. The primary function has always been to be their advocate. The services have always been available for no cost to the individuals with developmental disabilities.
