The American Cancer Society is starting a Cancer Resource Center at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall where trained and certified American Cancer Society volunteers provide support to cancer patients, their family members and caregivers, through the delivery of cancer information, ACS programs and services, referrals to community resources, and immediate access to www.cancer.org and 1.800.ACS.2345. The Cancer Resource Center volunteers have been able to help cancer patients, get support, financial assistance, rides and much more. We are looking for volunteers to help us start up this program. Days of week and times are flexible.
Volunteers must take part in the required certification training prior to working in the Cancer Resource Center. The training will cover all responsibilities described in the volunteer job description.Volunteers should be re-certified once a year. We are in need of a:Cancer Resource Center Volunteer Coordinator and/or Cancer Resource Center on site volunteers.
