Habitat for Humanity has a need for volunteers on Friday, June 12th from 5:30pm to approximately 7:00pm to pass out candy during the Cereal City Parade which will be held the night before the Cereal City Breakfast. Volunteers will need to arrive promptly at 5:30pm to begin staging and then walk beside the float for the duration of the parade (see below for parade route.) You will need to come to W. Van Buren St. (Enter from the east via Washington.) Habitat's float will be a big Habitat green and blue miniature house. All volunteers will need to be in Habitat for Humanity clothing – if you do not have a Habitat t-shirt, you will be given one for the parade. Also, if you have a pink tool belt – please bring that to fill with candy and to wear. If you do not have a tool belt, you will either be loaned one for the parade or you can donated $20.00 to the Women Build Program to keep the tool belt. Jeans, shorts, or skirts are acceptable clothing for the parade as well as comfortable walking shoes.
Unique dress and fun clothing are always acceptable to entertain children and families. i.e. hats, big sunglasses, anything fun and costume-like.
