FEBRUARY 2009 UCAN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES CALL 541 492-3509

UCAN LAUNDRY & SHOWER Services Coordinator. On Mondays & Wednesdays from 8:45am – 1:30pm. Help with laundry and/or showers by assisting with the sign-ins, handing out towels/hygiene items, spray/wipe-down showers and operate washer & dryer

AMERICORPS*VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) $ Ed awards and living allowance $ One-Year Contract Call Jane, *VISTA Program Director at 541 492-3525.

Head Start needs volunteers for classroom assistance throughout Douglas County, many Roseburg sites. Criminal registry required for working with children.

Glide Transfer site Woodlot – Physical and outdoors—our all-volunteer-run woodlot provides firewood for low-income families. Fridays helping to distribute firewood, they need someone to be on site to collect vouchers.

At UCAN we try to match your interests and skill-base to a volunteer opportunity that is just right for you. We have one-time events, ongoing activities and projects that may be just what you are looking for…volunteer several hours or several times a week, we will try to work our schedule around yours. Help UCAN to help others in your community.

UCAN offers Service Learning, Work Experience & Community-Service-hours: House painting, Cleaning vacant UCAN housing units; Washing and Cleaning UCAN vehicles & Umpqua Transit Buses; Landscaping; Maintenance; Data Entry; Office Assistance; Head Start classroom help; and Woodlot @ Glide Transfer site.
