Many Foster Grandparent Volunteers go into schools and assist those children who need extra attention with reading skills. Many in the community do not qualify to be Foster Grandparents or have the time to go into the schools to help children. If you are such an individual, we encourage you to donate children's books individually, as a family, as a church group, ect. Not all children have as many personal books of their own nor parents that take them to the library. Help give all children the gift of reading! This is also a great eagle scout/young women/ Summer of Service project and can be organized by youth court participants who need to fulfill hours.
Donations can be brought to the Volunteer Center of Washington County (the address is shown below). For additional information, please contact the program coordinator.
