We are looking for men and women willing to give of their time to volunteer for terminally ill patients. Opportunities include caregiver respite (sitting with the patient so the caregiver has the ability to take a break), running errands (picking up medications, grocery shopping, etc..) bereavement support (staying in contact with family members after the patients death) Office work that supports our hospice agency (answering phones, filing) The main requirement of a hospice volunteer is 12 hours of training. The volunteer will also be required to pass a background check and drug screening. After that there are annual health & safety updates which can be done online.
