Children's Community Center
Motivated by our sincere desire to help all children achieve their maximum. We will provide a safe, secure, nurturing, stimulating and developmentally appropriate environment that is responsive to cultural and ethnic diversity. "Each child uniquely different, Each child equally precious"
Description:
Children's Community Center is a non-profit agency. Under IRS guidelines we must be a recognized educational facility. CCC admits children of any race, color and national or ethnic origin.
Presently CCC programs for children one month to 12 years of age. Services include pre-school educational program from 9AM - 12noon and also 1PM - 4PM daily along with child care from the hours of 6:30AM to 5:30PM each weekday. Responsibility for the agency and for setting the policies that are in effect rest with a volunteer Board of Directors. Many parents sit on that Board along with interested and concerned community minded people. There are no government dollars involved. Watching each child grow and mature along the way is a very special experience for us. We provide daily teacher directed and free play activities both indoor and out. We are located in a beautiful 5 acre residential setting. We have three age-appropriate fenced in play areas. We are also thrilled to be able to provide a 2 acre Nature Center encompassing three areas of nature -- wet lands, woodlands and prairies. This was created to provide an inviting, adventurous, outdoor space for children to explore and interact with nature.
History:
Children's Community Center was established in 1975. We built and moved into our specially designed building in March of 1992. Our heritage has been a shared environment with a "Birth to Three" early intervention program, which provides services for children with developmental delays. Opportunities for all children, including those with additional challenges are provided. The education principle of "Full Inclusion" is an integral part of the program. "Full Inclusion" puts children with special educational needs in the regular classroom setting thereby giving all children the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of individual differences as they learn together.
