Description:
The primary goal of the United Way Volunteer Center is to educate, promote, recruit and refer volunteers, of all ages, to meet the needs of the community. We offer programs and services that connect people with opportunities to serve, build the capacity for effective local volunteering, and participate in strategic initiatives that mobilize volunteers to meet local needs. The Volunteer Center is an affiliate of the Hands On Network, an organization that inspires and mobilizes people to become engaged, take action and solve community problems. As a member, we adhere to standards of excellence in program delivery that ensure quality service to the community.

History:
The Waukesha County Volunteer Action Center (VAC) was founded in 1975. Its goal has been to encouraging people to become personally involved in making our community a good and welcoming place to live, work, and raise a family. Since its early beginnings, the Volunteer Center has developed ways for people to use their valuable time and talents to help others.
