Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Visit and support a hospice patient who does not qualify for continuous nursing care because the patient is not in crisis,but whose death is immanent. Volunteers can provide support by talking with the patient, listening to them share, and by simply being present in the patient's room. Comfort care may include comforting words, presence through touch, and hand holding even if patient is unresponsive. Volunteers will be matched with a patient; schedule will be set based on the individual's and the volunteer's availability.

Requirements: Volunteers must undergo training.
