Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Assist students with basic academic skills. Mentor students in their academic and character building achievements. Monitor behavior of students while working with them. Encourage positive attitude toward school attendance and participation in school. Be creative in ways to work with students in order to keep them engaged. Participate and assist during recreation, craft and free time. Initiate interaction with students. Help out during snack time. Days and times are: Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from 3:30pm-6:00pm.

Requirements: Volunteers must be a minimum age of 18 years old. Must have a full understanding of the youth programs offered. A background in Education is a plus. Enjoys and able to work with at risk students. Able to pass The Salvation Army’s extensive background check and complete all necessary volunteer application paperwork. Volunteers must have their own transportation.
