Zing Foundation
Logo

The Zing Foundation has a dual mission: (1) to promote out-of-the-box philanthropy and (2) to promote the field of art and social change. We currently run two initiatives: Bolder Giving in Extraordinary Times and the Arts Rising Funding Circle. We are a small educational nonprofit -- not a grant-making organization -- based in Arlington, Mass.

Description:
The Zing Foundation aims to spark heart felt, strategic, and substantial giving through programs that:

  • Inspire the active use of millions of new dollars for social change;
  • Engage thousands of donors to explore their true giving potential;
  • Provide out-of-the-box public models of how much it is feasible to give;
  • Give new hope and inspiration to non-wealthy people working for social change;
  • Help the donor education and donor organizing fields to grow more effective and coordinated.

Promoting Arts for Social Change

The Zing Foundation aims to act as a catalyst, organizer, and promoter for the field as a whole (much as we did for the field of donor organizing in the 1990s). Our programs promoting Arts for Social Change aim to:

  • Bring millions of new dollars and dozens of new long-term funders to the field of social healing arts;
  • Strengthen the infrastructure that supports the field, bringing it visibility, encouragement, and financial support;
  • Launch new partnerships between international healing arts networks and international social justice or environmental networks — partnerships that demonstrate the power and practicality of using arts to address social change goals.

Please note that Zing Foundation is not a grantmaking organization.

History:
The Zing Foundation brings much-needed resources to social change:

  1. The human and financial contributions of people with wealth
  2. The power of the arts and other cultural forms

A nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, Zing Foundation was launched in 2004 and is based in the Boston area. We are currently run by four staff and a five-member Board.
