Logo

The New Dawn Earth Center invites everyone to learn from, honor, and celebrate the interconnectedness of all life on Earth. As we become more aware of our place among the wider community of life, we seek to live ever more sustainably, maintaining a balance with local resources and natural cycles. We aim to create a space where humans can be in relationship with Earth and thereby nurture their own spirit.

Description:
Located on 250 acres of land, New Dawn offers programs to families, adults, school children, after school programs and occasional vacation day programs. We offer full moon hikes, seasonal celebrations: equinox, solstice as well as more reflective type programs. Our goal is to help all become enthusiastic about the gifts of Earth and share our responsibility toward Earth. Since we are a a very small staff (one full time and one part time), we rely on volunteers to assist us with our EARTH education.

History:
New Dawn Earth Center was begun by the Sisters of Mercy on September 1, 2006, in response to their mission to educate others about Earth: one of the critical concerns of the Sisters of Mercy. We have a current mailing list of 600 individuals. During the past year (July 1, 2009, to June 30, 2009)we served over 1800 people with approximately 1300 school children. Our third anniversary and equinox celebration is Sunday, Sept. 27, 1 - 6 p.m. COME JOIN US TO DISCOVER WHO WE ARE AND HOW YOU CAN SHARE YOUR GIFTS.
