Alliance Française De Providence
The Alliance française of Providence is a vibrant community of francophones and francophiles that encourages and furthers the knowledge of French culture and language through French classes and various activities. The goal is to foster friendly relations between the American and French people and welcome francophone families into the area.

Founded in 1901 as a non-profit organization, the Alliance française of Providence continues to welcome new membership and looks forward to strengthening the bridge of French-American culture and friendship for years to come.
The Alliance française's overall mission in the United States is to encourage and develop knowledge of the French language and French and Francophone cultures, and to foster cultural, intellectual and artistic exchanges between the USA and France and the French-speaking countries. Each Alliance Française is governed locally and is operated as an independent, non-profit, non-political, non-discriminatory organization.
History:
Created in 1901, The Af de Providence is one of the oldest in the USA. Several presidents, activities and a wide range of exchanges. The complete history of our chapter will be soon available online (2009)
