Teaberry Knoll Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. is a community-oriented, charitable organization dedicated to providing riding therapy to children with disabilities. Through a variety of equine programs, our aim is to develop in each individual, increasing levels of competence in horsemanship together with elevating spirit, confidence, and self esteem. Additionally we seek to share in the physical and emotional growth and well being of every participant, thereby enhancing the lives of all.
Description:
Teaberry Knoll Therapeutic Riding Center fosters relationship between disabled children and animals. Our clients experience gains in self confidence, interpersonal relationship building, problem solving, as well as fine and gross motor coordination. Health care professionals recommend supervised therapeutic and recreational riding as a highly beneficial exercise for those with special needs. Our clients are referred by physicians, physical therapists, clinicians, group homes, schools, and hospitals.
History:
Teaberry Knoll has been operating for 15 years. We are located on 30 acres of woodland farm in Seekonk. Each of our horses have been carefully selected and trained. Since opening we have been privileged to have taught horsemanship through individual lessons and summer programs to hundreds of children.
