Agency Details:
Fund For Community Progress, The
The Fund for Community Progress raises funds for our member agencies. Our mission is to guarantee fairness and opportunity for all Rhode Islanders.
Description:
The Fund’s agencies provide a virtual “safety net” for our communities. Through their programs and their ability to respond to immediate needs, Fund members offer assistance on diverse social issues, from parenting and childcare, to services for the elderly, to mental health problem, to affordable energy, housing and health care. We need your help to strengthen that net so that our agencies can continue to create positive change to make our communities better. Through The Fund, your participation has a real impact on creating fairness and opportunity in our communities. We work face-to-face with our neighbors, so even a modest contribution of time, talent or treasure can bring remarkable results.
History:
The Fund was established in 1982. All its members are Rhode Island based agencies. The Fund’s agencies were started by people who saw something that made them think: This is just not right; someone should do something about this” and then took action to correct the situation. The Fund’s agencies take pride in the educational components of their programs. They help to create positive change in the lives of the people they serve. Today, The Fund's two dozen or so member agencies touch over 300,000 lives in Rhode Island.
