Agency Details:
Family Service Of RI
To respond creatively to the unmet needs of individuals, families and the community by building partnerships that help people help themselves.
Description:
We are one of the oldest and largest non-profit human service agencies in Rhode Island. Our offices are located in Providence and North Kingstown, with children's residential treatment facilities in Smithfield, North Smithfield, Bristol, and East Providence. We are accredited by the Council on Accreditation and the Better Business Bureau, and state licensed for behavioral health services and substance abuse treatment. We are also state-certified and state-contracted to provide a wide variety of developmental and mental health services for children and adults of all ages, and hold a dual license for special and regular education. Our funding comes from generous foundations, corporations and individuals, as well as through government contracts and public and private insurance. Because of this, our services are provided free of charge or with only a co-payment. Family Service of RI has 400 staff members, including board certified psychiatrists, licensed mental health clinicians, chemical dependency professionals, educators, physical, occupational and speech therapists, nurses, and case managers. More than a dozen languages are spoken including Spanish, Creole, Portuguese, Khmer, and Laotian. We provide TDD service for persons with hearing issues
