The mission of the Arthritis Foundation is to improve lives through leadership and the prevention, control, and cure of arthritis and related diseases.

Description:
The Arthritis Foundation was formed nationally in 1948 and was chartered in RI in 1950.

The Arthritis Foundation achieves its mission by:

  1. Funding research
  2. Conducting education programs for health professionals.
  3. Providing educational programs for people with arthritis including seminars and self-help programs.
  4. Providing exercise classes with co-sponsoring community agencies, including warm water, land, and walking programs.
  5. Sponsoring support groups.
  6. Informing the public about prevention, the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.
  7. Advocating for the interests of people affected by arthritis.
  8. Seeking funds to support programs and services.

The foundation relies on collaboration with over 70 agencies in RI in order to carry out its mission.
