Description:
We are a hub to over 25 family based programs and community wide resources serving over 10,000 individuals and families annually. Our staff works to link individuals to a comprehensive array of services both within the agency and in the community.

Programs are organized within the agency's five service divisions: Family Support (basic needs assistance), Employment & Training (for adults and at-risk youth), Child Welfare (Treatment Foster Care, adolescent Boys' Shelter), Housing & Transitional Support (emergency homeless shelter; transitional & permanent supportive housing) and HIV/AIDS services.

History:
Established in 1891, Family Resources Community Action is one of the oldest social service organizations in RI, and a community leader working to coordinate resources that strengthen low-income families. Populations served include families needing basic needs support, families in the child welfare system or at risk for child abuse and neglect, infants and toddlers with developmental delays, children and adults with mental health concerns, families and individuals who are homeless, underemployed adults, youth at risk for dropping out of school, and people living with HIV/AIDS.
