Prison Chaplaincy
The Episcopal Chaplaincy team at ACI serves as a living witness of Christ's love for the least, the last, and the lost behind the walls by offering life-giving worship, counseling, and courses to all who are interested.
Description:
We offer spiritually-based courses for healing from abuse and/or addiction to inmates who choose change and recovery. The programs we used include: Houses of Healing and Boundaries: Taking Responsibility for your Life.
As inmates learn to identify their emotions and share them appropriately, they find a type of inner freedom that no one can take. As they learn to meditate daily, they gain inner peace and focus. Healing begins with this inner work. All it takes is a nonjudgmental leader to listen, teach, and encourage.
History:
I began offering these spiritually-based healing courses at ACI about 4 years ago. I've taught over 40 such courses to both men and women in prison. The courses at ACI have had a very positive response. Before I post a flyer, they are full. Word of mouth works to their advantage.
I was trained by the author of the most popular course, Houses of Healing. I can train you to be part of a most incredible,life-giving ministry and you, too, will find yourself enriched.
