CareNet-Rhode Island

Agency Details:

CareNet-Rhode Island

CareNet-RI is a faith based non-profit agency committed to supporting women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy.

Description:
We offer pregnancy tests, options counseling, limited ultrasound, pregnancy support, parenting mentoring, childbirth classes and free doula services, in addition to material support and breastfeeding help. For women or men who have had an abortion in their past and are in need of emotional support and healing, we have group programs available. All of our services are free.

History:
In August of 1985, individuals from South County met to form a steering committee. Their desire was to enable women and men to make informed decisions regarding their unplanned pregnancies. On May 1, 1989 the Center officially opened its doors as the South County Crisis Pregnancy Center in Wakefield, Rhode Island. In order to be more centrally located in the state, we moved to Cranston with our new name, Care Net-Rhode Island.
