Position title: Board Of Directors Position
Description: South Providence Neighborhood Ministries is searching for new board members. Our board is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those families living on Providence's Southside. We are looking to expand the diversity of our board ethnically, geographically, religiously and to include people of all ages.
The mission of South Providence Neighborhood Ministries is to: 1. be a charitable organization with programs in conformity with the rules of the 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Status. 2. Be an outreach at Calvary Baptist Church with support from other caring organizations in implementing Jesus' commands in Matthew 25:36: To feed the hungry, to satisfy the thirsty,welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, minister to the sick, visit the imprisoned. 3. Minister without regard to age, sex, color, race, veteran status, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability with respect to employment, volunteer participation or the provision of services. 4. Foster a sense of community pride in a neighborhood of diverse ethnic, racial and social backgrounds. 5. Provide services that encourage self-worth and self-sufficiency.
