Help us provide free reading materials for prisoners all over the country! We read prisoner request letters, select books from our donated library, write a short note, and package them for mailing. Very rewarding if you love books and want to help educate and show prisoners that they are not forgotten men and women. We have packing sessions on Sundays from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bell Street Chapel's parish house (3 Bell Street, off Broadway in Providence). We also need people to find and/or pick up book donations, sort them for the library, and help with fund raising.
We are not handicapped accessible at this time, but there are no restrictions of any kind. Some training is necessary. This opportunity is sponsored by: Providence Books Through Bars
