As a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program site, Family Resources Community Action (FRCA) assists low-income individuals and families with income tax preparation free of charge. Without this help, many low income families would have to pay hundreds of dollars for tax preparation services, and would not have the information they need to receive critical tax credits for which they are eligible.
We are seeking two types of volunteers for this program:
- Tax Preparation Volunteers. These volunteers, who must be IRS Certified, will work directly with clients to prepare income tax returns. Ideal candidates are either currently IRS certified, or have basic accounting/tax knowledge and are interested in taking the IRS certification test. FRCA will provide test-prep materials and support.
- Client Intake Volunteers. These volunteers will assist with the client intake process. Volunteers will verify intake sheet information and make copies of all supporting documents. All intake volunteers will participate in a brief training.
Tax Preparation Volunteers must be IRS Certified. Intake Volunteers receive a brief orientation/training.  This opportunity is sponsored by: Family Resources Community Action
