Last updated on May 1, 2009

English For Action is seeking passionate educators who want to share their excitement for learning with Olneyville youth. OurSchool is an after-school arts-literacy program working with Latino youth ages 3-12. In collaboration with the English for Action ESOL Program (English Speakers of Other Languages) youth are engaged in an arts-based literacy and problem solving activities while their parents participate in ESOL classes. OurSchool’s purpose is to empower youth through educational arts. The program encourages youth to take an active role in their education - we aim for the youth to develop their voices and to build an excitement about learning. Using a participatory approach, we develop lessons based both on the interests of our learners and the passions and skills of our mentors. We write plays, build bridges, and make books.
