Wish Grantors Wish Grantors are specially trained volunteers (21+ years old) who meet with wish children to determine their wish and then work closely with the wish-granting staff to fulfill each wish and make the wish a unique experience. • Wish Grantors meet with wish families at their homes in the evening or on the weekends. Other wish granting volunteer opportunities • Meet and Greet Volunteers – Assist Wish Families during the check-in/arrival at airports or train stations. • Bi-lingual interpreters – Help facilitate wish experiences for non-English speaking families. • Computer “Techs” – Assist with set-up and installation of for children receiving a computer. • Creative Support – provide help with wishes needed photography, graphic design, carpentry, painting, etc. Administrative Support Office volunteers provide assistance to the Providence Office to help keep the Foundation overhead costs down. Typical activities include: • Supporting day-to-day operations of the Foundation during regular business hours. • Assisting with administrative projects such as data entry, mailings, filing, faxing and photo copying. Speakers The Foundation is often invited to speak to promote awareness of the organization’s mission and wish-granting programs. Opportunities may include: • Events • Workplace giving fairs or presentations • Check acceptances/photo opportunities • General information presentations. Fundraising Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising activities that support the Foundation’s development goals. Opportunities may include: • Community events • Corporate promotions • Foundation events
- All volunteer candidates must complete a volunteer application and submit to a criminal background check.
- Training - All new volunteers are required to attend an orientation and training session. These sessions are typically held quarterly, or on an as-needed basis, and last approximately 3 hours.
