JARI recruits and trains community volunteers to present the JA programs in local schools. The school requests are from K-12 and JA also offers several afterschool programs. The time commitment includes: 1 hr program orientation; 1 hr preparation per class visit and classroom visits from 5 - 8 sessions, once per week for 30 - 50 minutes. JA provides all materials needed for the volunteer including a volunteer guide or "lesson plans". Every volunteer must attend the 1 hour orientation prior to starting the first JA class in the school or afterschool venue. Volunteers from local businesses, retirees, college students and selected high school students (service learning) are eligible for volunteer consideration.
