Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Children enjoy interacting with one another in a safe and stimulating community environment that offers them diverse opportunity for creative expression and social interaction. Developing exciting programs that allow for personal growth and expanded learning is a valuable step in implementing (YRAP) youth program goals at University Heights. We are looking for College students who are flexible with skills in the Arts, Music, Sports, Education, Culinary, Psychology, etc. to compliment to compliment our program by facilitating independently designed workshops for small groups of students. Individualized programs would also be great.

The daily programs are held in a good size Community Room that is broken into 3 separate rooms with a computer room (with 6 computers), game room, kitchen and project area. The program meets from 3:00 - 5:00pm during the school year M - Thurs. and 3:00 5:30pm M - Thurs. throughout the summer. The ages of students ranges between 6-18 yrs. with the daily number of "drop in" participants varying but averaging about 23.

We are very flexible and open to creative programming ideas. Volunteers are welcome to assist daily, once a twice a week or for pre-scheduled workshops throughout the year.

From the South you would get off at exit 23 and bear right. Up at the light take a left (see Channel 6 News). Take a left there onto Charles Street. Get into the right lane and bear right. Up ahead there will be a light. Take a right onto North Main Street. Get in the left lane. At the next light take a left onto Olney Street. You will see University Heights. Enter into the second lot where the large sign is and immediately come into the Main Office through the side walk entry area.   Nearest Bus Stop: close to RIPTA bus stop, 3minutes minute walk
