Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Make a difference! RICAODD established its telephone Referral Helpline to meet the need for a centralized source of referrals to treatment for those struggling with drug and alcohol problems. The Helpline volunteer provides referrals to people by collecting information given by the caller regarding his/her individual problem, location and insurance coverage. The goal of the Information & Referral Helpline is to be a crisis intervention point for people and concerned others who are suffering from the disease of alcoholism and other drug dependence. Volunteers usually have calls transferred to their home or cell phone.

You must complete an a two hour orientation and subsequent 2 hour training.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE SOUTH I-95 North to exit 28 (School Street) Take right at end of ramp. Follow School Street to the end and bear left onto Beverage Hill. Next set of lights take left onto Prospect Street. Our office is located in the Independence Square Foundation building located on the right immediately following Prospect Heights housing complex. Located within Independence Square Foundation building, wing C, suite 306. DIRECTIONS FROM THE NORTH I-95 South to exit 27 at top of ramp take left (you will cross over 95) At second light take left onto Division Street Proceed two lights and take right onto School Street Follow School Street to the end and bear left onto Beverage Hill. Next set of lights take left onto Prospect Street. Our office is in the Independence Square Foundation building located on the right immediately following Prospect Heights housing complex.
